February Half Term
19/02/2024- 23/02/2024
Dear parents and carers,
Thank you for your understanding today, I do hope your children enjoyed a plethora of snow inspired activities.
Thanks to the amazing facilities team, Mr Mason and Mrs Worsley, large areas of snow have been cleared and pathways gritted which means school and Day Care is open as usual tomorrow (Tuesday 13th December). On arrival to site, please keep to the cleared areas for your safety.
Please ensure that children are appropriately dressed for the weather conditions (hat, gloves, scarf, coat and appropriate shoes / wellies) as we have a week of very cold temperatures.
The PSA shopping day is now Tuesday 13th December
I look forward to seeing you all in the morning
Kind Regards,
Tracy Prickett

Dear Parents and Carers,
Following an extra-ordinary meeting this afternoon with Miss Pickett , we are revising our plans for Monday 18th and Tuesday 19th July ONLY.
Howe Dell is an Eco build and has been purposely designed to absorb and maintain heat. The position of the classrooms means that all classes are exposed to direct sunlight from sunrise until late into the afternoon. Temperatures will be soaring throughout the day and with a building that is retaining heat makes it very difficult for us to mitigate heat for the afternoon sessions.
We shall be opening as usual tomorrow morning however, we shall be changing our opening times. We will be open from 8am-4.30pm on both Monday and Tuesday.
We fully understand that many of you are working and will be unable to source suitable childcare with such short notice.
If you wish to keep your child/children at home please inform Day Care via email. If you would like to collect your child/children early at 1pm, please inform staff when you drop off in the morning.
The remote learning for Monday afternoon and Tuesday will be an assigned activity and will be available through Tapestry.
For those parents who have paid for their invoice, adjustment will be made to fees and payment refunded if you have informed us that your child/children will not be coming to their allocated sessions on Monday and Tuesday or if you will be collecting early on either on these days.
As the overnight temperatures are remaining high, the classrooms are likely to be in the low 30s at the start of the day on Tuesday and therefore we are not able to reduce these temperatures.
Having considered the health, We are fully aware that many of you need your children at Day Care.
If your child/children will be attending Day Care Monday and Tuesday please dress them in loose, light clothing with a sun hat and sun cream applied before their session. Please also bring in a swimwear for water play activities and a refillable water/drinking bottle/cup.
We shall communicate to you again tomorrow to advise you of any changes to the children's well being and you may have to collect earlier than 4.30pm.
Please keep checking you emails throughout the day and your telephone.
Thank you for your understanding with this late communication however I was waiting to hear from the Executive Head Teacher for School and Day Care.
We would of course wish to keep 'business as usual' throughout the summer months however our building is hindering us and I appreciate your support with this matter.
Wishing you all a lovely rest of the weekend.
